    Magnolia 4.4 is released
    #1 by gjoseph on Dec 1, 2010 3:26:03 PM

Good news: Magnolia CMS 4.4 has just been released! It contains a number of new features designed to enhance team-driven content creation. It allows editorial teams to see who else is working simultaneously on the same page, while also allowing authors to compare page versions and review changes. To have full control when restructuring websites, Magnolia 4.4 also makes it possible to restore pages marked as deleted, or create custom workflows for deletion approvals.

Magnolia 4.4 also includes a number of other new features, including convenient re-import of translated content, spell-checking and dependency management of content elements.

    Hi,

Magnolia 4.4 has major defects which make it unusable for production.
It is impossible to create a new glossary or a new overview without producing an exception.
    Some translations are missing too.

I would recommend not to upgrade to 4.4

    What is the recommended strategy?
    - Going back to an older stable release?
Is there a list of the most stable releases?
    - Waiting for a soon coming fix?

    Regards

    Stefan Bachert

    Stefan,

It is very well possible that some areas have been overlooked in QA cycles. Whether these are regressions since 4.3 or new issues you found out, by all means, please file an issue on our issue tracker. In this case, these look like potential issues with the Standard Templating Kit rather than the main Magnolia project, so you want to check http://jira.magnolia-cms.com/browse/MGNLSTK. Is this something you can reproduce on http://demoauthor.magnolia-cms.com ?

You'll find that the more detailed your issue report, the faster the issue will be fixed and integrated. Patches *always* help, of course.

As for translations, they are a constant work in progress. Is there any specific area where you felt the German translations were incomplete ? Feel free to join the effort ! http://documentation.magnolia-cms.com/contribute/i18n.html

Just for the record, we tried reproducing Stefan's issue, unsuccessfully. If someone encounters this or something similar, by all means, please speak up !
